High Tensile High Speed Coupler Assembly

SONA Comstar make High Tensile High Speed Centre Buffer Coupler with Balanced Draft Gear is designed to couple two coaches together.

This coupler is having double acting Draft Gear, which absorbs & releases energy in both Draw mode (Tensile) and Buff mode (Compression).

Engagement of one coupler with another coupler is automatic. However, unlocking is to be done manually. It is equipped with manual uncoupling device to unlock the coupler from outside the track.

This coupler also has the provision for Transition Screw Coupling for form coupling between 'H' type, 'E' Type or Hook type coaches/locomotives.

SONA Comstar make High Tensile Semi-Permanent CBC with Balanced Draft Gear & Muff Couplings is designed to couple two adjacent coaches together of Semi-Highspeed trains and forms a rigid connection to facilitate the formation of train.

When coupled, it allows the coaches to move and accommodate track curvature & differences in vertical height. It also absorbs the reversible energy in a controlled way which reduces the longitudinal jerks and provides comfortable journey to the passengers.

The precise design of balanced Draft Gear absorbs & releases the reversible energy in a controlled manner in both Draw mode (Tensile) and Buff mode (Compression) during train application.

The Semi-Highspeed Semi-Permanent Couplers consists of the following main components:

  1. • Muff Coupling Kit
  2. • Balanced Draft Gear with Shank
  3. • Guide Cone Assembly
  4. • Rear Carrier Plate Assembly
  1. • Intermediate Tube
  2. • H-Housing Assembly
