Sona Comstar's Brake Pad is identified as an organic Non-Asbestos composite brake pad designed for railway applications. This product is manufactured through a rigid cold moulding process, resulting in a dark brown colouration. Its composition includes synthetic, mineral, organic fibres with a thermally stable “Novalac” phenolic powder resin serving as a binder within the matrix to achieve the requisite strength and performance characteristics in terms of friction and wear. This product meets the requirements of UIC specification on the Dynamometer.
